My Story

Margie Springer's journey into founding In2Africa began with a deep-rooted love for travel, instilled in her from an early age by her parents, who were passionate travelers. This love was further sparked by a memorable trip to Kenya at fourteen. It was in 2007, nearly three decades after her first trip, that Margie, along with her entire family, ventured on a safari to East Africa, reigniting her love for the continent.

Over the next few years, Margie got even closer to East Africa.  In 2009, she took a mission trip to Tanzania with her youngest son.  The pivotal moment came a year later when a close friend proposed the idea of crafting clothing - specifically skirts and blouses - in Kenya and Tanzania.  This idea marked the birth of Kenzania, a venture that would soon evolve into not merely a clothing business but a platform for supporting and opening doors to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and local artisans.  These partnerships aimed to create products that would support their livelihoods, thereby intertwining Margie's entrepreneurial spirit with her desire to give back to the communities that had enriched her travels.

Throughout this venture, each trip to Kenya and Tanzania transformed into an adventure, allowing Margie to explore the breathtaking landscapes of East Africa. She seized every opportunity to immerse herself in these countries' culture and experiences, leading her to encounter remarkable individuals who would open doors to even more incredible opportunities. Margie Springer's start of In2Africa was more than just a business venture; it was a culmination of lifelong travels, a love for East Africa, and a determination to make a difference in the lives of the people she met along her journeys. Through In2Africa, she has managed to blend her passion for travel, culture, and social entrepreneurship into a single, impactful venture.
